Fall Ball Season 2021

Hi everyone, we’re looking forward to the start of Fall Ball this weekend! 

Below are a few points regarding our Covid procedures, safety at the field, and then the schedule, which is subject to change especially as we get into games/scrimmages in the second half of October.


COVID:

-We’ll have a check-in table that every player must go through in order to get onto the field. If your player is an LAUSD student, please generate a daily pass to show us, just like you do every morning for school.  If your player is outside LAUSD, we’ll ask a couple of questions to make sure they’re feeling symptom free, and have not been in contact with anyone who’s tested positive recently.  

-Please use common sense— if your player is showing any symptoms, keep them home.  

-We ask that all players and parents wear masks. 

-When enjoying our delicious food from the snack bar, (which will be open for hot dogs, munchies, and beverages), please practice social distancing at our tables and benches.


GENERAL FIELD SAFETY INFO:

-There are absolutely no pets allowed on our fields. Our fields are owned by the state and part of an ecological preserve overseen by the Department of Fish and Wildlife.  They will shut us down if pets are on the field. Please leave your furry friends at home. 

-Don’t let your players wander off. There are lots of places to lose sight of little ones and it’s no fun when everyone has to search for a lost player, which has happened in the past. Luckily they’ve been found, but let’s not tempt fate. Plus, we don’t want to stumble on any coyotes or rattlesnakes, which have been known to be in the general area.

-Culver Blvd is treacherous. When exiting the field, please turn right onto Culver.  We’ve heard the sound of accidents before— we’d love to avoid that. 


UNIFORMS, EQUIPMENT SALE, FUNDRAISER

-Due to Covid and hurricanes/floods, there are production and shipping delays with our uniforms.  We should have them in time for the second week of Fall Ball.  All our players will get the same Culver Marina Baseball shirt and hat. We suggest a red belt, red socks, and gray or white pants.

-We’ll continue to sell our equipment to anyone interested. Batting helmets, catcher’s gear, baseball pants, and bats are available. Some helmets are new, but most are used but in good shape.

-We’re having a World's Finest Chocolate fundraiser this fall, and will hand out materials this Saturday.


SCHEDULE (Saturdays and Sundays)

Tball:
Check in @ 9:00am
Practice from 9:15am - 10am

Coach Pitch: 
Check in @ 10am 
Practice from10:15am - 11:15am

Minors:
Check in @ 11:15am
Practice from 11:30 - 1pm

Majors:
Check in @ 12:45pm
Practice from 1pm - 2:30pm

50/70 and Juniors:
Check in @ 2:15pm
Practice from 2:30pm - 4pm

Please note that we’re planning on sticking to this schedule through October 16. Games will begin Sunday October 17, and then we’ll plan on Saturday practices through November 20th with the above schedule. Games will be Sundays and we’ll try to target a similar schedule.  We’ll send out a game schedule in the coming weeks.

Remember to bring your player with the following gear:
-Cleats
-Glove
-Bat
-Batting Helmet
-Sunscreen
-Water
-Baseball hat (until we receive our CMLL fall ball hats)

Email us for more info on how to get involved-- we need new recruits, especially in the areas of Accounting/Book-Keeping, website development, sponsorship coordination, and coaches for Teeball, Coach Pitch, Farm, and the Minors divisions.
